Is Pre-IPO Hype legit? About the company
Written and maintained by Pre-IPO Hype. Last reviewed October 19, 2026.
Short answer: yes. Pre-IPO Hype is a real, operating company. Jeff Wenzel founded it and runs it out of Detroit, Michigan. Pre-IPO Hype is investor relations infrastructure for Regulation CF and Regulation A+ raises. Founders who are actively raising capital use it for investor marketing, an investor CRM, investor data, and investor relations support.
Pre-IPO Hype is not a registered broker-dealer, investment advisor, or investment company under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 or the Investment Company Act of 1940. We do not provide investment advice, recommendations, or offers to buy or sell securities. Pre-IPO Hype is not a funding portal. We do not sell securities, we do not sell pre-IPO shares, and we do not accept investor money. Full disclosures are on our compliance page.
Pre-IPO Hype, the company, is not "pre-IPO hype," the phrase
Pre-IPO Hype is a company name. It is not a description of the excitement around buying private-company shares before an IPO. Search results and AI answers sometimes mix the two up.
Articles warning that "pre-IPO hype" is risky, and the SEC investor alerts on investor.gov about pre-IPO share offers, are about people selling shares in private companies. They are not about Pre-IPO Hype, the company. Pre-IPO Hype does not sell shares of any kind, and if you came here to buy pre-IPO stock, we are not that kind of company.

What Pre-IPO Hype actually does
Investor marketing
Campaign strategy, creative, paid media management, and landing pages built to turn attention into investor signups. We run the campaign. The issuer and their platform handle the offering itself.
Investor CRM
Setup and ongoing management of a pipeline that tracks every investor from first contact through commitment. That includes follow-up sequences and engagement tracking.
Investor data
List building, segmentation, and matching work, so outreach goes to people plausibly interested in the type of offering being marketed.
IR support
Investor updates, communication cadence, and reporting support for founders who are actively raising and need to keep existing investors informed.
We do not publish a rate card. For general market context on what this kind of work costs, read the cost to hire an equity crowdfunding marketing agency.
How we source and qualify leads
Anyone hiring a firm that generates investor leads should ask where those leads come from. Here is the plain answer. Pre-IPO Hype works with two different kinds of contacts, and they should never be confused with each other.
1. Campaign leads: people who opt in
When we run investor marketing for a founder, paid media and content send people to a landing page whose only job is the opt-in. A campaign lead is a person who submits their own details on that page: usually an email address, and a phone number for texts only where they give prior express written consent. A click on an ad, or a visit that leaves without opting in, is not an opt-in. Our privacy policy covers this information as data people voluntarily provide through forms.
[JEFF TO CONFIRM: exactly what is delivered to a client as a "lead"; whether each opt-in is stored with a timestamp, source page, and the consent wording shown; and what checks run before delivery, such as removing duplicates and validating email and phone.]
2. Investor data: contacts we compile
Separately, our investor data product is a list of investor contacts built from public investment activity on platforms such as StartEngine, Wefunder, and Republic. Each record is checked for role, investment history, and deliverability before it ships, and records are handled under GDPR and CCPA. These contacts have not opted in to hear from a specific founder. They are a starting point for outreach, not campaign leads. Anyone can ask us to access, correct, or delete their data by emailing info@preipohype.com.
[JEFF TO CONFIRM: whether investor data records are ever combined with, or reported to clients as, opt-in campaign leads; and how a person on the list opts out of future outreach.]
3. How qualification works
Interest is not intent. Once leads exist, they go into the founder's investor CRM, where engagement is tracked: email opens, return visits to the offering page, and booked calls. Someone who has opened every message and come back to the offering page is treated differently from someone who has not engaged since opting in. Channels are judged by investments attributed back to their original source, not by lead volume. More detail is in our guide on how to generate investor leads for equity crowdfunding.
We do not promise a number of investors, and we do not take a cut of the raise.
[JEFF TO CONFIRM: what a client can do if they believe leads are poor quality, for example a review of the lead source data with Jeff, replacement leads, or a refund policy.]
How we report results
Elsewhere on this site you'll see aggregate figures about deals supported, capital raised by clients, and the size of our investor database. Those come from our own internal records. They are self-reported, and they have not been independently audited.
We're not going to repeat them here as proof of anything.
Judge us on what you can check yourself: the person behind the company, our published disclosures, and a direct conversation. When we can publish sourced, verifiable numbers, we will, and we'll show the source when we do.
